November Members Meeting

Building Entry: Refer to your email for the code to the building.
- Board Elections: We will elect our new Ventura MQG Board at the start of our meeting. If you have a last-minute nomination, write elections@venturamodernquiltguild.com. We will also be discussing Chair positions for the new year.
- Challenge: Recycle, Repurpose, Upcycle: Think outside the box — or USE that box to make a quilt! Recycle an unconventional material, repurpose textiles, or upcycle and item or material to create a block or quilt in the Modern aesthetic. As always, our Challenges are posted on our webpage here: venturamodernquiltguild.com/challenges
- Philanthropy: Sign up for the next Sew-In on November 21. Grace Lutheran Church, 9a-4p. We will be making quilted pet beds for our last charity on our 2105 list. But this is a free choice Sew-In, so if you want to bring your own projects that is great! Georganna will be bringing that big box of selvedge (this stash keeps getting bigger rather than smaller). We can do some fun small selvedge projects for holiday gifts! For those interested, we’ll talk about planning the next Opportunity Quilt. If you have an idea or pattern, bring it! (See below)
- Opportunity Quilt: We are still looking for a design (and designer) for the next fabulous Opportunity Quilt. Got an idea? Want to be on the design team? Contact a Board member today! venturamodernquiltguild.com/opportunity
- Snacks: Thanks to Becky H, Lucy S, and Stacey B for bringing goodies last month. This month we get to sample treats from Scott G, Barbara O, and Judy H. Thanks in advance!
- Raffle: Don’t forget to bring extra bucks for our always-fabulous raffle. We want to thank Quilt Ventura for the gift certificate, and we also had goodies from Quilt Con. Got something to donate? Adele F and Gladys R are our Raffle Chairs.
